My Project

Our Donors Choose project aims to provide combination locks for fifth graders, offering them a head start in mastering these essential tools before transitioning to middle school. These locks will serve as invaluable learning aids, enabling students to familiarize themselves with the mechanics of combination locks, thus easing their transition to middle school lockers.

The specific items requested will make a significant difference in their learning by instilling a sense of confidence and competence.

Through hands-on practice, students will develop proficiency in operating combination locks, honing their problem-solving skills and fine motor coordination.

Our goals for this project extend beyond mere skill acquisition. We seek to empower our fifth graders by equipping them with the tools and knowledge necessary for a smooth transition to middle school. By fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility through individual locks, we aim to instill a sense of confidence in their ability to navigate the challenges of their new academic environment. Furthermore, this project seeks to cultivate a supportive classroom community, where students engage in peer-to-peer learning experiences and collaborate to overcome obstacles.

What makes our students special is their resilience, adaptability, and diversity. Each student brings a unique set of talents and experiences to our classroom, enriching our learning environment and fostering a culture of inclusivity. They are not just recipients of knowledge but active participants in their own education, demonstrating a passion for learning and a willingness to embrace new challenges.
