it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students represent hope, growth, and transformation. They are eager to have fun while learning, want to be accepted and respected, and hope to make friendships. What I love about my students is that everyday they teach me about what it means to be a compassionate, patient, supportive, human being that embraces the collective diversity of others.
Covid-19 had positioned many members of our community to face insurmountable challenges, but in the adaptation process to our evolving stages of being, we found resilience.
Some students were able to finish the last weeks of elementary school year on campus. Then they transitioned into middle school amidst all of the restrictions, precautions, and feelings of anxiety. The new, mask wearing, little tadpoles trying to swim in a fast streaming brook with bigger fish. They want to be here and they want to do well. To reclaim their space and get grounded in the academic rigor, I need to keep them motivated and excited to learn. They deserve the best year we can possibly give them.
My Project
Hello lovely donors,
Please allow me to introduce the project starting with the PPE promoting safety.
My students are young and under vaccination age, in this stage of life, feeling anxiety and strife. A lot of healthy good can be done, with sanitizer, tissues, and masks that look like fun.
Part two, I will describe it for you: Imagine a class of children sitting at their desks, but their IPAD batteries are draining to less. It's because the equipment is getting old, but their ashamed when their told "Again? Why didn't you charge your Ipad?" They feel kind of salty because their chargers are faulty, so I'm asking for your help, can you help with technology. We need all the support for some basic supplies. This year is the year, to reignite, the light in their eyes. Spark the creativity, marked by positivity of feeling prepared.
We might not see the smiles behind the masks, their smiles are their eyes lit up with the right resources to complete their tasks. Both at home and at school, their hearts will be full knowing someone cared enough to invest.
