My Project

Electricity is a beloved topic in my physical science classes. Learning about electricity is meaningful because students can easily see how it applies to their everyday lives. Previous students often come back later and tell me that their favorite labs and projects were the ones on electricity.

An electricity unit just isn't complete without powering on some lightbulbs!

This project will benefit the 150 9th grade students who will be learning the basics of series and parallel circuits, as well as 60 junior/senior physics students who will dive more in-depth into circuits. We currently don't have enough supplies to do electricity labs with the number of students in my classes. The products I selected - batteries, lightbulbs, switches, wires, multimeters, and more - will allow me to provide valuable hands-on experiences, meet the diverse needs of my students, and make learning fun!
