This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students rely heavily on Chromebooks for research, assignments, creative projects, and interactive lessons. However, with a broken cart and limited outlets, keeping these Chromebooks charged and ready for use has been a challenge. By receiving a Chromebook charging station, we’ll be able to ensure that all our devices stay fully charged and are available to students when they need them most.
Having a dedicated space to charge these devices will remove the distractions of dead batteries and save precious class time, ensuring that every student can actively participate in lessons without interruptions.
It will also help us keep my classroom organized, as students will have a specific place to store their Chromebooks, reducing the risk of lost or damaged devices. By having a Chromebook charging station, my students will have reliable access to the technology they depend on every day. A charged Chromebook opens the door to more dynamic lessons in areas like math, science, reading, and social studies.
My goals for this project are to provide a safe and convenient space for charging Chromebooks, ensuring all devices are ready for use at the start of each lesson. Also, I would like to reduce classroom disruptions and maximize instructional time by removing the need for students to search for outlets or deal with dead batteries.
My students are incredibly diverse and bring unique perspectives, talents, and backgrounds to the classroom. Many of them are growing up in a world where technology is vital to their success, yet some face challenges in accessing these resources at home. They are eager, curious, and excited to learn, but without consistent access to fully charged Chromebooks, they sometimes miss out on the opportunities these tools provide. They continue to demonstrate incredible creativity, determination, and a thirst for knowledge.
