Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The school provides students with Chromebooks, but so many students arrive to class without their computers charged. That renders them unprepared and often unable to participate in the day's activities. The Chromebook charging station I'm requesting will allow students to charge their computers for a short time, either before class or at the start of class, and then be able to complete the assigned work. In a classroom that is all about reading and writing, my students love the ability to sit on our futon for a comfortable reading experience. However, the futon is dirty and needs a new cover to extend it's use and give students something clean to sit on. I am requesting a standing desk simply to facilitate all that I must do in the classroom. Currently, I have a sciatica, which is rather painful. Having the option to alternate between standing and sitting to teach my students will make the learning environment better for all.
