Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Imagine the excitement in our classroom as students harness the power of the sun to build and race their very own solar-powered cars! This Solar Car STEM Challenge is designed to engage my 3rd-grade students in a hands-on learning experience that blends science, engineering, and environmental education.

In this project, students will explore how solar energy works, understand the basics of renewable energy, and apply engineering principles to design and build functional solar cars.

This challenge will not only teach them about the importance of sustainable energy but also inspire them to think critically, solve problems, and work collaboratively.

As our world increasingly turns to renewable energy sources, it’s essential to equip students with knowledge and skills in this area from a young age. The Solar Car STEM Challenge offers a unique opportunity for students to engage with cutting-edge technology in a way that is both educational and exciting.

However, to make this project a reality, we need the necessary materials and resources. By supporting this project, you will provide students with the tools they need to experiment with solar energy and gain a deeper understanding of its potential.

**Materials Needed:**

- Solar Car Kits (e.g., kits with solar panels, motors, and car components)

- Additional Building Materials (e.g., small tools, extra components for car modifications)

- Science Journals for Students to Record Observations and Results

- Instructional Guides and STEM Challenge Cards from Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT)

Your support will not only provide the materials needed for this engaging project but also empower students to explore renewable energy in a fun and meaningful way. The skills and knowledge they gain from this challenge will stay with them as they continue their educational journey, inspiring them to become the innovators and problem-solvers of tomorrow.
