Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a Title I school where 100% of my students receive free lunch and about 25% are migrant students. My students are English Language Learners from a low-income rural area. My students are in great need of effective resources to help them achieve the proficiency language level that the state requires. These resources will help them with their oral language, which later on will be a great resource for their internal and external communications.
No matter what challenges they face, they always look at the positive side and don't give up.
The school faces a huge budget cut, and my students need that extra resources to develop their academic's needs. Yet they never give up and find other ways to help each other. I'm very proud of them because even thought they are shy they help each other and don't let their lack of communication skills stop them from their learning.
My Project
Nowadays the use of technology is essential inside the classroom. My students use their Chromebook on a daily basis, but most of my students only use them during short periods of time because they need constantly be recharging their devices. This has created a constant interruption in their learning environment. Buying these power strip outlets and these chargers will increase my students effectiveness during their learning time.
Right now, they work on their Chromebooks during a small period of time and sometimes they are always rushing through their work.
Sometimes my students stress and think they need to complete their work faster because of the battery charge. Help me provide my students with the necessary tools for them to have a better work quality.
