My Project
As a special education teacher for over 20 years, I have seen how much technology can benefit students, especially those who have different cognitive abilities. My students are on the autism spectrum and most are non-verbal. I would love to incorporate iPads during our Reading and Math centers not only as a motivating experience but one that will help further their knowledge in the areas of early learning.
Studies have shown that technology not only enhances engagement but provides those students who have serious deficits in language and literacy development an opportunity to learn to their fullest potential.
I have found using iPads during instruction time to be a valuable tool to engage students that have language barriers. They are able to answer questions or solve equations with the use of fundamental education apps.
My students are very important to me. They are often the overlooked individuals in society. My goal is to help educate them to their fullest potential so that they are able to live the best life imaginable.
