Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am dedicated to creating a focused and engaging learning environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive. Our school has a clear policy of no cell phone use during instructional time to minimize distractions and maximize learning. However, I recognize that students rely on their phones outside of class for communication, organization, and even safety. This often leads to students arriving at school with low batteries, creating a temptation to check or use their devices during class to conserve power or stay connected. To proactively address this challenge and fully support our school's policy, this project aims to provide accessible and convenient charging stations within my classroom.

By offering students a designated place to "power up" their devices during class I can significantly reduce the anxiety of dead batteries and eliminate the need for phones to be out and potentially distracting during valuable learning time.

This charging station will offer a practical solution that benefits everyone. Students will have the peace of mind knowing their devices will be ready when they need them outside of class, and our classroom will become an even more focused space dedicated to learning and collaboration. This initiative fosters responsibility among students, teaching them to manage their technology use appropriately while respecting the learning environment.
