How do you feel when you are treated like a part of the crowd, rather than as an individual? Do you ever wish that someone would recognize you for who you are? With ready access to a color printer, I will be able to provide my students with materials to fit their individual needs.
My students are middle school students from a high-poverty urban area.
They are individuals with exceptional learning needs, meaning that each student is very different from all the rest and they learn differently from their same-age peers. Their academic abilities and performances are currently at various levels, requiring that their work be very different. Providing for these differences helps my students to be successful. It also helps them to perform at a level similar to that of of their same-age peers.
My Project
My students need a color laser printer and extra toner. This printer will allow me, as a teacher, to provide my students with the materials that they need in order to learn efficiently and effectively. If we have access to a high-speed, color printer, I can provide students with differentiated materials. I will be able to print color leveled reading books, individualized math worksheets, and reading skill builders to meet individualized needs.
Having a color printer readily available to me and my students will help our work to be more productive.
It will allow me to differentiate materials for my students more effectively, and it will provide my students with targeted materials that will reach them at their level and then help them to grow as scholars.
