My Students
I am a National Board Certified teacher in Literacy. I work at a Title I elementary school. Many of my students come from military families due to our location near several bases. Our school is diverse with learning styles, cultures, and interests. My students are hardworking, creative, critical thinkers. My students are future artists, inventors, authors, and natural leaders. Success is at their fingertips and I know that with the right learning environment, I will nurture each and everyone of them.
My Project
A good book in the hand of a students can make all the difference. The books will provide my students with an understanding of culture, childhood, animals, and historical events. My students enjoy reading books and I want to provide them with high quality text that will teach them life lessons.
This project will awaken the avid readers I have in my classroom and keep them asking for more.
Each book will open the door for great discussions about characters choices and challenges. I hope that you agree with me and help me put a book in the hands of my students.
