Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

These 6th graders show how passion leads to growth. Our students are from a vast variety of cultures, ethnic backgrounds, and learning abilities. Many students I have taught have experienced things that no child should, including homelessness. Despite the challenges that they face, these students remain motivated to do their best and continue pushing for excellence.

I would like to provide a rich, multi-cultural, updated classroom library that helps engage my students' interests and create a sense of empowerment.

Many of my students love reading but are often bored with the same books or the books are simply outdated. Help me create a vibrant reading space for my students to encourage their love of literature!

My Project

These books will enhance the reading experience of my students by creating a diverse selection to choose from. My students are often reaching for books that are empowering or relate to their lives in some way. As they grow throughout the school year, they start shying away from my typical chapter books.

By donating to this project, you are inspiring my students to continue reading while also tailoring to their personal interests and lives.

Each book has been carefully selected with my students in mind. Our classroom is very diverse with students who come from different places, cultures, upbringing, and other life experiences. My students have already taken to the handful of books I have personally purchased. Help us supply our growing library.
