Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My classroom in 2024 is very different than my classroom in 2005 when I started teaching. Today, I create a calm, warm classroom environment with electronic candles, battery-operated LED lights, battery-operated air fresheners, etc. I have found that students feel comfortable in my classroom because I have introduced these decorative touchers to enhance the space. Though I love my classroom, it does become expensive to keep batteries in all of the candles and LED lights. I find myself having to replace batteries every few weeks, which comes at a cost.

This project seeks to fund enough batteries to keep my classroom environment glowing and my students comfortable for the remainder of the school year.

Every LED light requires 3 AAA batteries, every candle requires 2 AA batteries, and the list goes on. I want to be able to continue what I have started, but I need help funding the batteries that make it all possible. This project will take the load off of my shoulders to constantly purchase more and more batteries when needed.
