Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students work hard in and out of school. As recent immigrants ages 17-23, most are working 1 or more jobs while they learn English and earn their high school diploma. They often come to class hungry and exhausted.

I want to provide healthy snacks, warm drinks, cell phone charging, a few treats and a comforting classroom space to help my students juggle their many responsibilities with greater ease.

Regular "coffee hours" in class help with adjusting to the harsh Minnesota winters, brain breaks, and social opportunities for mental health.
