This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are bright, determined, and full of potential, and they deserve to see themselves in the great innovators of history. This project will introduce them to African American inventors whose groundbreaking creations—like the traffic light, the gas mask, and many more—still impact our lives today. A powerful book will bring their stories to life, while a small model of a telephone booth, representing one of many Black inventions, will serve as a hands-on learning tool to spark curiosity.
As a Black educator, I know how vital it is for my students to see themselves in history and believe they, too, can create, innovate, and lead.
My goal is to inspire them to dream big, think critically, and recognize that Black excellence is not just history—it’s their future. These resources will make Black History Month meaningful, transforming lessons into real connections. Without these tools, my students may miss out on seeing their own limitless potential. This project is more than just materials—it’s a chance to change lives. Your support can empower the next generation of Black inventors. Please help me give them the inspiration they deserve!
