We have been using 4 pens in my class with the learning cards to practice the skills. However, 4 pens is not enough. It is a very popular activity so adding more pens would allow most students the ability to use them daily.
Power pens are a fun and engaging way to have my students practice their literacy skills.
The pens allow students to work independently at their own pace and receive immediate feedback. They include fun sounds to let them know if they are correct or need to try again. The sound can also be turned off and a red or green light signals how they did.
I have also asked for 2 sets of comprehension cards for my more fluent readers to use to practice their comprehension skills. These cards will add to the skills they need practice in.
