Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The snacks I am requesting will significantly benefit the developing bodies of my middle school students.
The middle school growth spurt is a reality that demands increased energy, which late morning and midday snacks can provide.
These snacks are essential to prevent my students' hunger from becoming louder than my teaching voice.
Although our school offers free breakfast, it is typically gone by 10:00 a.m. I need these snacks to make up for the missed breakfast opportunities. Some students arrive late to school because they are helping their siblings get ready, which means they may miss out on a meal. These snacks will help keep their hunger at bay until lunchtime.
I am also requesting peanut- and gluten-free snacks, as there are even fewer options for this group of students.
