My Project

Our attendance incentive this year is tied to a childhood friend, Mr. Potato Head. I loved creating different looks and displaying him for all to see. Now, the whole Potato Head family is going to help bring our attendance numbers up. Every day that our class has 100% attendance, one student will choose a piece to dress a member of the family. When all three members are dressed from head to toe, we'll celebrate with a reward. The different outfit sets will allow students to dress the Potato family through different times of the year. The baker's rack will be a display, storage place for Mr. Potato's family and things. The adhesive frames will be placed around the hallway to display our daily attendance number and what outfit piece was chosen. The magnetic rod will display the name of the student who came in and help to achieve perfect attendance. That student will choose and dress the family member of their choice. I'm excited to see our class community grow and take on the task of being in school every day to continue to grow, learn , and level up!

Our core values of academics, community, pride, and justice allow us to advocate for all within this urban neighborhood by extending compassion and partnering with families to nurture lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and responsible citizens through STEM/STEAM, performing arts, visual arts, athletics, coding, computer science (CS), financial literacy, and mental health/social-emotional learning (SEL). We receive federal funding for programs that provide free breakfast/lunch for every student and Title I services to economically disadvantaged individuals. Our inclusive class serves military families, gifted/talented students, ESL/ELL students, special education students, and tech-savvy students. Our staff is diverse with an increase of male educators and HBCU alumni, including myself.
