My Students

Are you the type of person that can visualize what is happening in a story when someone is reading to you? Many of my students lack this ability and, therefore, need visual aids to help them retain information.

My students have many different learning styles, but the most common learning style among them is visual learning.

I can stand in front of them and lecture from a book for a long period of time, but until I show them colorful graphics and interesting images, they do not retain as much information. Our students are living in a multi-media culture, where they are constantly bombarded with millions of images. They can text, play video games, work on the computer and watch television all at the same time. This multi-tasking of their brain makes traditional teaching boring to them.

My Project

Having these brightly illustrated posters, will reach my visual learners. They will have the ability to peer into the inner workings of the cell, they will visualize what occurs during mitosis, they will take a journey inside an Amoeba, and will grasp the concept of photosynthesis. By using these posters, I will be able to sear the images of the concepts that I am teaching into their brains and their recall of the information will be improved.

Being a visual learner myself allows me to see the importance of visual aids in the classroom.

These updated posters will have an impact in my dull classroom that will excite students and will keep their focus upon the topics at hand. My class and I are truly grateful for your anticipated donation and we look forward to the benefit that these posters will have on our class.
