Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Here at my school we have a thriving sustainable garden ran and maintained by the students. In this garden we grow organic fruits and vegetables the students prepare in class and take home. They also learn about the weather, entomology, plant propagation, environmental conservation, nutrition and cooking in the elective class I teach at our school.

At this moment we have nowhere for the students to share their gardening accomplishments and recipes with the rest of the school!

We would use the bulletin board to post gardening tips, what is in season, recipes and other sustainability tips with others, as well as post fundraisers and volunteering opportunities. The push pins will add fun and charm to their work!

We have also included a cactus and succulent kit as it is a favorite plant of many students, and a great way for them to explore nature and propagation in a handson way.
