My class is an enthusiastic set of learners, eager to question everything and discuss new ideas. Their passion and excitement drives me to want to create more for them. I am always searching for new ways to make learning exciting and fun for them. My students are eager to learn about the world around them in new and exciting ways.
My Project
This year I was presented with the unique opportunity to join a group of teachers across the country in a post card exchange project. All 50 states are included in this group and we are each tasked with mailing 50 post cards, one to each of our other group members. With so much Delaware pride and a desire to learn about the world around us, I thought this was the perfect opportunity for my students. This gives us the chance to research our state and learn how to write and address post cards. Each student will be responsible for 2 post cards, including the illustrations on the back. We will be sure to include drawings of our wonderful state and teach our fellow third grade Americans about the great FIRST state. My class has already started receiving postcards from other classes and we are eager to send ours out as well. With each post card's arrival we discuss that state and find it on the map to color it in. We can't wait to watch our map grow more and more colorful as the year goes on.
