Post-APES Exam: a Picturebook Experience

Help me give my students the tools they need to create Environmental Science picture books for our DSA Library after their AP Exam!

My Project

Similar to last year, after the AP Environmental Science exam, my students require a few projects to ensure that they are filling their time in meaningful and also fun ways! After all the hard work we put into our exam, to be able to relax and share their learning is paramount.

One of the most amazing ways to share our learning is to make it accessible to wide ranges of people--such as through a picturebook.

We will be creating picturebooks with the help of our school librarian to address various AP Environmental Science topics that were learned during the course. Last year, some highlights included the life of feces through the sewage wastewater treatment center, a water droplet learning to love the water cycle, animals realizing their status in the food web, and more amazing and creative applications of our learning.

This year, to bulk up the project, I am asking for new books (hardcover this time!) as well as some new supplies so that students can take new approaches to forming their book (such as mod-podging printed images as opposed to having to draw everything out!). From last year, I learned that this time of year motivation is at a low, so I am additionally asking for some snacks to incentivize my students to continue pushing themselves and applying their learning. I am so grateful for all the projects I have completed here on DonorsChoose and for all your donations. I thank you again for considering donating to my classroom!
