Hi! We teach a Second Grade ICT Class in Queens. The class consists of a dynamic and spunky bunch of 30 students. Many of our students come from non-English speaking homes, and we are a Title I school, meaning many of the children are from low-income households. We are looking to build school spirit and camaraderie by personalizing various items for our students using permanent vinyl and t-shirts to spread some positivity. We are firm believers in positive affirmations, and truly feel as though children grow and succeed with a simple belief in themselves.
Many of our School Spirit Days would be more enjoyable and successful for our students if we are able to create t-shirts with positive catch phrases and affirmations to allow all of our students to participate.
Vinyl and t-shirt prices add up quickly. However, with your help, that can all change!
My Project
Our school does many School Spirit Days. However, in the past our students, many of which who come from low income families, do not have the resources to partake in the activities. Often times when there is a special day, the children will resort to using post its and taped construction paper to their shirts in order to feel "part" of the day of celebration. With these t-shirts and heat transfer vinyl, it will allow us to create positive phrases and images on t-shirts for our students! We want them to feel proud and like part of the School Community, all the while as they spread cheer.
