This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at one of the best schools you'll ever hear about! This year I am taking on the challenge of teaching photography to middle school students as a class during the day as well as for an extracurricular club in the afternoons. My students come from many different backgrounds and circumstances, many of which are not ideal. Despite the many personal challenges they experience on a daily basis, my students show up to school ready for the day! Their attitude and enthusiasm for learning inspires me to be a great teacher.
My school is a Title I school in Nevada in which many of my students live below the poverty line and face difficult personal challenges every day.
That doesn't stop them from doing amazing things! My students do endure tough obstacles every day, but they arrive to school smiling and ready to learn. We take care of one another at my school and I am ecstatic to be teaching a new class to students who have never experienced it before.
My Project
Help me motivate my students! We are excited to finally have the opportunity to attend school in person this year! However, some of the behavior issues we have experienced this year have pushed us to seek ways to promote a schoolwide positive reinforcement system.
My middle school students need items that they are excited to earn each week.
Therefore, I am also requesting a Silhouette Cameo. The Silhouette will be used in our CTE class to personalize some of these items. We are changing the lives of young adults one day at a time with a positive approach.
