Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a prevention/ intervention reading teacher at a Title I school where 92% of the students qualify for free or reduced lunch.

My kindergarten, first, and second-grade students are curious, funny, energetic, and hardworking, but COVID-19 has significantly impacted them, causing them to fall behind in their learning, especially in reading.

All of my students are currently reading well below grade level, so I provide targeted intervention support which is key to student progress and success in class.

Help my students meet their reading goals and become life-long readers! They strive to be successful, so your support will give them access to essential resources and supplies to provide the most targeted differentiated intervention in building foundational reading skills. My students are motivated and just need that extra support to help them fall in love with reading and learning.

My Project

Incentives will motivate my students and help them know that they may not have achieved their reading goal yet, but with perseverance and never giving up, they can make their goals a reality. Replenishing the incentives is difficult, so this project is greatly needed. Students love incentives but hate when none are available. I will use the materials in this project to continue replenishing the treasure chest to celebrate achieved goals and for motivation! Please donate and help my students by celebrating their achievements as they earn rewards on their journey of becoming fluent and lifelong readers!
