Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My first grade students love learning! They particularly enjoy anything hands on such as physical education activities, STEM and Art.
They are an energetic bunch of First graders who are excited to come to school each day!
Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies; it doesn't matter the subject, these students give it their all!
Our school is a well-established school that has recently gone through renovations to update it. Many of the families in our school have been attending for two or three generations.
My Project
This set of read aloud books will help me teach growth mindset to my first grade students. These books cover some of the following concepts: we all have the ability to learn, mistakes help us learn, learn hard things, try our best, perseverance, resilience, problem solving and "I can't do this yet, but with practice I will learn!"
First grade students need to develop a passion for learning that will help them become life-long learners.
I want to inspire my students to say, "I've got this." instead of saying, "It's too hard." With the right attitude, the sky is the limit for these young learners!
