Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our goal this year is to celebrate students who are doing the right thing and wonderful members of our school community. Unfortunately, these students who are doing the right thing whether someone is looking or not sometimes get overlooked and we want to change that.
Most of our students are facing uncertainty in their personal lives due to the extreme rise in the cost of living in our city.
For some of our students whose parents are working multiple jobs to keep up, we may be the first person they talk to that morning. We want to make sure these students feel seen and appreciated. A quick conversation and a treat is a good way to help us hold ourselves accountable to that goal.
