This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students benefit from positive rewards systems rather than giving consequences. In order to support the positive rewards system, I need prizes for the students to be able to earn. I put snacks and little toys into my prize bin for my artist of the day to win, based on which student got the most amount of points for that class period. In addition, I use toys for young students to engage with when they finish their art project early. This allows them to sit quietly and play rather than get distracted and cause behavioral issues to happen in class. All these items would help my classroom management in the art room and give my students a better learning experience!
