Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help inspire our students by providing them with resources that will motivate them to achieve at the highest level possible.
Many students find school to be challenging and this is especially true of students who present as atypical learners.
Our school has a wonderfully diverse student population, who present with a myriad of diagnoses. These students have all demonstrated a great capacity for learning, but as atypical learners they often require additional motivation to cooperate and focus, so they can achieve at the highest level possible. One of the many ways that we help to motivate our students is through a reward system, that helps keep them on track both behaviorally and academically.
My Project
I am requesting both basketballs and footballs to use towards our school rewards system. These resources will serve many purposes in helping the students achieve. First, students are able to earn these resources and this will motivate them follow decorum in the school and achieve academically. Second, the balls are excellent in helping the students exercise and maintain a level of activity that may not always be available to them. Finally, the balls will increase positive social interactions with peers and adults both in and out of school.
Students, who present as atypical learners, often have a difficult time keeping on track behaviorally and this makes it difficult for them to achieve at the highest level academically.
These students require a myriad of proactive interventions to help keep them on track behaviorally and academically. These resources will help with increasing positive behaviors, academic achievement and social interactions.
