Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
During the pandemic, students lost connections to their schools, teachers, and peers. In some cases, they forgot how to be kind to one another or how to act in school settings. Fear, anxiety, and lack of confidence have become the main emotions many of our Pre-K through 5th grade students experience.
As a result, many do not want to come to school or participate like they used to.
So, we want to fully develop our multi-tiered system of support by using a reward system to get them motivated to love and learn again! Students can earn rewards like pens, fidget spinners, squishy balls, books, etc. by demonstrating positive behaviors throughout the week.
Eventually, their external rewards will become internal motivation, and they will see not only social and emotional success, but they will demonstrate academic success as well!
