This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My elementary public school has students in PreKindergarten through Fifth Grade. The population includes general education students, English Language Learners, and students with disabilities.

My students are happy, creative, and inquisitive individuals.

Many of them reside in shelters; however, they come to school with a positive and ready-to-learn attitude.

They care about reading and writing. They like being exposed to exciting and meaningful fiction and nonfictional literature such as picture books, realistic novels, biographies, all about books, poetry, and magazines.

My Project

I will grow professionally by attending the Educating Boys Symposium. I will gain greater insights into how boys learn differently compared to their female peers, and strategies to support effective and compassionate instruction both in the classroom and in my daily interactions with students.

Learning about the potential academic and social adjustment of boys will help me empower them.

I plan to share strategies to help them thrive on a personal and academic level with students and other teachers.

My male students will become powerful navigators of school success. I will discuss the workshop with all of my students.
