Portable Whiteboard For “Old-School” Teaching

Help me give my students a portable whiteboard that will allow me as a teacher to work individually with groups of students who would benefit from more specialized instruction while other students are working.

My Project

While I am not asking for the good-ol’ transparencies and overhead projectors, I have found that old fashioned tech is what captivates the students. As a millennial teacher, I do not have great practice with teaching via whiteboards, but look forward to the challenge.

I have noticed that with smaller whiteboards, students seem to do well, I can only imagine what adding a larger group whiteboard would be like for these groups of kids.

By me getting this whiteboard, I will also be able to divide out some of my smaller whiteboards to other teachers at my school which will spread this project out even further!

Let’s face it. Did you take a Biology class (what I teach) and something just didn’t make sense until the teacher drew that process live in front of you? This can help me focus on vocabulary and specify what we are learning that day and break down these words, terms, and processes. That’s what I hope to bring to the table (or whiteboard) with this project.
