This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students I teach for Adapted Physical Education have many different gross motor needs. They are able to participate in games and activities with some modifications/accommodations. The one thing that DOES NOT change is their desire to play just like anyone else! Many skills such as Overhead Throw, Underhand Toss and Bouncing must have a location or designated target for equipment to be moved to. That's where these great bins come in.....

Trash Bins on Casters are the Basketball Hoops of the Future!!!!

The goal for these Trash Bins and Casters is to make them into portable Basketball Hoops. This can be done by simply using the bins/casters as is. They can also be used in combination with a PVC Mini Basketball Hoop attached to the top of the bin for added height and challenge! The bins can be easily moved to accommodate each students' ability level and potentially increase their success rate. They also collect any equipment such as mini basketballs, yarn balls or bean bags that are thrown during play time for a tidy lesson area. The bins can also double as team buckets for students to collect items in during instant activities.

Your support will also provide much needed transportation for equipment during class time. Because these trash bins will be easily moveable my students with special needs will be able to assist with clean-up and storage which will help increase their confidence and to teach them personal responsibility!
