This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I've started an after school club to teach girls programming.
My students are dedicated to learning more about technology and how to program.
They joined a club that meets after school 3 times a week and have diligently been learning JavaScript. It comes easy to some, but not to others.
Our school is high poverty and most of my students do not have a computer at home.
My Project
These cases will be used to protect the Chromebooks that we're getting for our classroom. They are necessary to keep the new laptops safe as they transition from class to class. Each girl that will be using a laptop is a dedicated member of our after school club and has shown an interest in technology and learning computer programming.
These laptops (and the cases) will help our students have access to the internet that they normally would not have.
Our school library is often too crowded to use during the day and after school - it is shared by the 3 high schools that reside in our building.
