Help me give my students the ability to get hands on with cutting edge technology with the Microsoft Surface Go 10 and show them that computers are a useful tool for more than just games.
I work in a Behavior Unit with students who are currently unable to participate in a general education classroom. My students have a mixture of disabilities like Autism, Tourette Syndrome, and many other social and emotional problems. We work with these students to help them to overcome the obstacles that are keeping them out of the standard classroom. We focus on rewarding good behavior to instill good habits in many ways. One of those ways is providing a currency reward system where they earn tallies for positive behavior and can exchange those tallies for snacks and small prizes that will help them associate a good feeling with doing the right thing (the carrot rather than the stick!). We spend a lot of our own money to prepare our classrooms and we'd love to get some help to help our students succeed.
My Project
This Microsoft Surface Go will allow us to use technology anywhere and any time. Students will be able to get hands-on with learning in and out of the classroom.
I teach in a Special Needs Behavior Unit and my kids have a variety of disabilities.
In general, they love computers but see them mainly as something to play games on at home, and ancient technology with missing keys they have to use at school.
This Microsoft Surface Go will be something that they want to use and we can take outside with us when we have class outside. This will help to foster a love of technology and a desire to learn.
