My fifth graders are a diverse group of learners. In our learning community, there is a range of strengths and needs. It is my goal to meet all my students individual needs and build on their strengths.
I often rely on using visuals to support all learners.
I would like to create a learning environment where it is easy to use visuals in all areas of my classroom. I also want all students to have quick, easy access to these learning tools. A portable easel, with storage, would greatly support this need.
My Project
This portable easel will support the diverse needs of all my learners. I rely on an easel to create visual supports, anchor charts, and interactive reading/writing/math lessons. Having a functioning easel is an essential tool in any classroom.
My current easel is wobbly and worn out.
It is difficult to make it stand up properly, often crashing to the ground when it is not proped up against a wall. The dry-erase/white board part is completely worn out and does not erase. The easel is also hard to move, so I have to leave it in one place. As a result, it blocks the view of my teaching area for some of my students.
With a new portable easel, I will be able to easily move it to different parts of the classroom to support small groups or specific students. The movable easel will also provide quick visual support to students or an interactive learning space. With the supply pocket on the easel stand, I can leave extra white board pens, markers, and magnetic tools for students to interact with.
