Portable Communication Device Needed

Help me give my students an opportunity to be flexible about how they want to communicate with each other, and a portable, dry erase board would also allow us to divide the class into workable groups for learning.

My Students

Our school is devoted entirely to providing the best education for special needs and gifted children from across the entire district. The specialized staff of over two hundred addresses the learning requirements and unique needs of the very diverse student populations. Please note that many of these students have been affected by Hurricane Harvey and really could use your help.

In 2017, Hurricane Harvey hit Houston hard.

Along with some major budget cuts, our schools are looking down a long tunnel of under funding in an already under funded environment. In the 2018-2019 school year. Moving forward, we will find ourselves without a budget for even the most basic supplies.

A unique concept in educational programming is promoted in blending three diverse school programs, including a program for the deaf and hard of hearing. In another program, our school has approximately five hundred students in sixth to eighth grade. These students have the opportunity to earn high school credit for algebra, IPC, art and foreign language while at our school.

My Project

Currently, the students are forced to use small boards to try to formulate arguments for debate as well as work out blocking for plays. This is problematic as groups can be as large as fourteen.

A large portable board will allow us to be flexible with seating during class, as well as allow us to create different sized groups as needed.

This will also create a better way to allow all students to contribute to the assignment.

My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work.
