My Project

So many of my students do not perceive themselves as readers but actually read a lot. Manga series sets are a great way for students to start seeing themselves as readers. Students are able to see character and plot development over a number of books instead of just one. This really helps students relate to the changes and growth of the characters and builds empathy, reading stamina, and pride.

By reading books that are super popular and hard to find, students are also building social capital and helping to promote reading school-wide.

I have so many students requesting books that they see their friends reading. It's amazing to see how quickly and enthusiastically students read these popular manga titles!
