My Project

Adding high-interest fiction to our sixth-grade classroom library encourages reading for enjoyment, not just academics. Books like Mr. Wolf’s Class, The Tryout, Guts, Witches of Brooklyn, New Kid, and Class Act engage students with relatable themes and entertaining stories. Their humor, adventure, and emotional depth make reading more inviting, fostering a lifelong habit.

These books build empathy and critical thinking.

New Kid and Class Act explore racial identity and social dynamics, The Tryout highlights perseverance, and Guts addresses anxiety. Witches of Brooklyn brings fantasy and empowerment into the mix. When students see themselves in stories or understand others' perspectives, they connect more deeply with literature.

Graphic novels and illustrated fiction make reading accessible for all learners. A well-stocked library with diverse, engaging books ensures every student finds something meaningful, making literacy growth feel natural and enjoyable.
