it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The only music education at my school is provided by me. Therefore, I make it my business to bring as much music to my kids as possible. From the Morning Broadcast daily radio show that I help the kids Dj, to the PopStar Academy TeachRock music history class I teach, music is the foundation. When I started at BSSJ all teachers had to facilitate a club and I ran a percussion club for a couple years where we worked on djembes and congas. Clubs were discontinued and our music teacher retired. I started creating a collection of all sorts of percussion instruments in my classroom that we use for jam sessions. These days there has accumulated a fair amount of instruments that the students can’t keep their hands off. The instruments chosen here would bring what could be created in PopStar Academy to the next level. Thanks for helping us achieve.
