My students are a great group of 7-8-year-olds. We have a healthy mix of boys and girls that are on a variety of different learning levels and abilities.
One of our school's initiatives is to provide and challenge students through technology in education and hands-on learning.
Many of my students have had access to technology in previous classrooms or at home, so we are able to utilize many different programs and apps that benefit the differentiated learning of all our students. As a teacher, I am always looking for ways to incorporate technology or hands-on opportunities.
My Project
Pop its seem to be everywhere you look and it is something that all of my students are VERY excited about. Most of my students do not get particularly excited about math, however.
Introducing these pop its to my math instruction will increase attention and enjoyment for my students.
I know that my students will look forward to playing math games during independent work time, and even choose to play them if we have to have our recess indoors.
I see the excitement that my students have when a student brings one from home for show and tell, and I know that I can have that same reaction when I introduce them to my math lesson!
