Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from many different backgrounds. Many of them come from countries like El Salvador, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. My students. My students do not have academic opportunities at home. That is why I need to ensure that my classroom has te resources to expand their learning opportunities.
I may not be able to control their homes lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day to help their experience during school day to help them maximize their knowledge.
My Project
The majority of my students are struggling to learn their multiplication facts. I have tried many different activities to support their learning. However, I have found they become disengaged after just repeating them. I feel using this manipulative will increase their engagement as well as their sensory motor skills which will positively impact their memory. Plus they will have fun learning the facts.
The best way to increase their multiplication memorization ability is to practice, practice, and practice.
This multiplication fact Pop-it will continue to help my students grow stronger in multiplication facts, that are the foundation to division.
