My students need access to Brainpop Jr and Brainpop ESL to support their learning and provide addition support. Brainpop is an educational website with access to short animated videos for students in K-12.
Being in an urban public school has its challenges but more so when you are unable to communicate with your teacher and half of your classmates. Half of my third graders are Spanish speaking and receive English Language instruction. Many of my students are unable to receive assistance from their parents with school work due to a language barrier. The majority of my students live in low income households with very limited educational support. I want to provide them with a resource that will help them grow as learners that is accessible in their language.
The donations for this project will increase my classroom performance by offering addition support to my English Language Learners and struggling students. Providing students with access to Brainpop will assist student learning when parents are unable to assist, while providing a bank of information at their fingertips. My students will be able to use Brainpop Jr and Brainpop ESL to help support what we are learning in the classroom. This will help struggling students especially my English Language Learners by offering them the opportunity to revisit topics or skills as much as individually need. For my students that are more independent workers they will be able to research a variety of topics at their interest levels and learning needs.
