Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are part of a Dual Language program in a Title One school located in Washington Heights, New York. This school has a large ELL population and a high need for differentiation and authentic learning experiences. This is my students' fifth year in the program and they are no strangers to the academic rigor this program demands. The dual language program in my school has a wide range of students with an even wider pool of language progression.
My goal is to help my students maintain their native language and strengthen their new language acquisition.
I have vivacious students in my classroom who deserve the best resources and tools to enhance their learning. My classroom could hold the next Barack Obama, Frida Kahlo, or Gabriel Garcia Marquez, but to do this I have to provide them with the most up-to-date resources and tools to bring out the very best in these bright souls.
My Project
BrainPOP creates cross-curricular digital content that engages students and supports teachers, from animated movies, creation and reflection tools, coding projects, and quizzes to learning games, custom and playful assessments, lesson plans, and beyond.
With a BrainPOP subscription, I will be able to provide innovative instruction through the use of playful, reflective and global videos to support classroom learning.
Brain POP videos are designed with relevance, depth, and humor to engage students in learning, which is why my kids would be ecstatic to see this incorporated into their learning, especially at home!!
