My Students

Welcome to my 5th grade class room. I teach ELA and Social Studies to a total of 50 students in Bedford, Ohio. I love the curriculum that I get to teach! My school has over 80% of students receiving free and reduced lunches. We are a high needs school with many motivated students eager to learn as much as they can.

Students learning with high interest videos and interactive activities to enhance concept, will be more engaged in classroom discussions.

Students are more successful and grow in their interest in learning if they are provided access to high interest materials to gain knowledge. Students provided with high interest activities will enhance their love of learning.

My Project

Students learn in multiple modalities. By using Brain Pop in the classroom, my students will be able to explore new concepts to enhance their learning. Students will be able to watch a high interest video, create concept maps, make a movie and create code to deepening their understanding of topics across the curriculum. By using BrainPop in the classroom, students will be able to explore topics in all subject areas. BrainPop also includes videos on Social Emotional concepts students need during this time of distant learning.

With using BrainPop in the classroom, students will be able to take quizes, improve vocabulary, play games, and have a related reading. These skills are related to the common core standards used in the classroom that the guiding standards in the classroom.
