Help my students learn about Pop Art so they can create their very own reduction prints!
My students are very creative young artists who attend a high poverty public high school.
Our school values community service and volunteering. Each student volunteers at least 50 hours every year! They truly understand the importance of helping others and would greatly appreciate your donation.
My Project
I have requested carving tools, linoleum and a variety of ink so my students can learn about Pop Art through reduction printmaking. Students will look at and discuss various Pop Artists, like Andy Warhol. Each student will choose an everyday object to use as inspiration for their own print design. They will draw and carve their image into the linoleum and use the ink to create a series of multi-color prints to trade with one another. It's an incredibly fun, yet complicated process that my students look forward to every year!
Without donors like you, my students would not have the necessary supplies to learn about the printmaking process and the Pop Art movement.
