My students are unique and inquisitive individuals. They range from freshmen to seniors and come from every walk of life. Some are athletes, musicians, neurodivergent, or neurotypical, but all are artists when they enter my room.
I love their willingness to try new things like putting paper in a blender to make more paper!
They love to paint and work with their hands. Our best projects require planning and typically involve an element of 3D design.
My students are simply the best! They make me laugh, challenge me to be a better educator, and have a place in my heart. I love teaching them and getting to know them every day I'm in the classroom.
My Project
These materials will offer my students an opportunity to work hands-on to carve pop art images. They have not carved before, so having the right materials and easy-to-use tools is of utmost import.
Without the help of others like you, this project would not be a part of our classroom experience.
Students will explore the genre of pop art and artists like Andy Warhol and Yayoi Kusama. They will create their own pop art and then learn the methods used to convert a 2D image into a carving for printing.
