My Students

My students are so excited to be in school and have hands-on STEAM experiences in our Innovation Lab. We will delve into 3D printing, robotics, and programming, as well as many other hands-on projects. It is so fun to watch their faces light up when they see the results of their own creations.

The students are curious and creative, imaginative, and innovative.

I love hearing their new ideas. We are a diverse school with many cultures and languages, and STEAM experiences are great at bringing everyone together for a common goal.

My Project

At the book fair this year, students gifted the Innovation Lab the book "What do they do with all that poo?" by Jane Kurtz. My students really enjoy when we do our storybook STEM, when we read a book and do fun projects that relate to that book. It is a fun time where students can forget they are learning. However, some students are still struggling with learning together, after being at-home for school last year. This means they still struggle with sharing supplies, as many don't feel safe when doing so.

I would like to get brown clay pom poms and supplies to make catapults so that each students can experiment and make their own "poo", and then make a catapult to fling their "poo" (pom poms) just like some of the zoo animals do.

By having enough supplies for each student to participate, students can feel safe and healthy and not worry about sharing supplies.
