This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
We are teaching a pollination unit. This is my favorite unit of the year. The students choose a flower they want to help pollinate. Then they will create an original pollinator to help that flower.
Students use their imagination to design a pollinator that will help the flower pollinate and make more flowers.
They may give the pollinator any characteristics they like. They may have it camouflage and give it a defensive trait.
Then we use the wood circles to make giant magnifying glasses to paint our pollinators onto. When we are finish it looks like we are looking at our pollinators through a magnifying glass. Then we hang them throughout the hallways to share with the school using the magnetic hooks from the ceiling.
