Politics Across the World!

My students need books about the six countries we're studying in AP Comparative Government and Politics in order to have a wider understanding of the various political systems.

My Students

My students are always up to a challenge, and signing up for a brand new AP course is just one way! AP Comparative Government and Politics looks at the different political systems around the world, and uses six specific ones (China, Russia, United Kingdom, Mexico, Iran, and Nigeria) to compare/contrast. As my high school is very diverse, I believe these countries will enable a lot of discussions on the nature of politics. I want to do all that I can to make sure my students continue to do well in my class and on the exam this year.

My students work very hard to excel in all of their classes, including mine and their other honors/AP courses.

My school has many students on free and reduced lunch, and we've previously been classified as a Title 1 School. Our teachers and administration are dedicated to providing students with the best education they can receive. We strive to build on the goals and accomplishments from the previous year.

My Project

These selected books, that focus on politics in the six countries AP Comparative Government and Politics focuses on, will help my class to delve into the world of international politics. Since completing different levels of US History last year, they have a good understanding of American politics and how they impact our lives. However, in this ever changing world, what happens internationally-outside the realm of interacting with the USA-might not be noticed. I hope to change that with this project.

My amazing students have told me they want to learn more about other types of political systems; they want a better understanding of international politics and how those countries decisions impact them.

I am thrilled with the opportunity to teach this class next year, and I hope I can offer these books to my students.
